Payment & Billing

Billing that keeps moving when your team is busy with something else.

Subscription revenue should not depend on someone remembering to check failed payments, resend invoices, or manually clean up renewals. For a lot of organizations, that's still how it works. Meld is built to take that operational burden off the table.

The fundamental challenge of subscription billing isn't taking the first payment — it's collecting every payment after that, reliably, at scale, for years. That's where most organizations struggle. Manual renewal tracking, inconsistent dunning processes, members who fall through the cracks because nobody noticed their card expired. The revenue loss is real, and it compounds over time.

Meld connects directly to Klarna and Stripe — the providers many organizations and members already use. Klarna covers the Swedish checkout expectations people are used to. Stripe covers card payments and broader flexibility when you need it.

The important part is not that there are multiple providers. It's that your team doesn't have to stitch them together manually. Purchases, recurring billing, retries, refunds, invoices, and VAT handling all show up in one system instead of being scattered across separate tools.

Recurring revenue depends on operational reliability, not just checkout design.

Payment & Billing

Renewals run automatically every day. The system identifies expiring subscriptions, attempts charges, handles grace periods, and manages status transitions — all without manual intervention. When a payment fails, it doesn't just retry blindly. It follows a configurable schedule, notifies the member, and escalates through a structured process designed to recover revenue without alienating people.

Every transaction generates a proper invoice with correct VAT calculation. Invoices are stored as downloadable PDFs, accessible to both members and administrators. For B2B transactions, reverse charge VAT is handled automatically. Your finance team gets clean, auditable records without needing to reconcile across multiple systems.

Trial periods are handled properly too. Configure them per subscription plan, let members start without manual admin work, and have the transition to paid happen automatically when the trial ends. No cleanup project afterwards.
